It is a requirement for membership.

WHY SPAYING AND NEUTERING ARE IMPORTANT:
Spaying a female bunny not only prevents procreation,
it also contributes to the bunny's serenity and sanity...
with the additional by-product of giving the bunny a longer, healthier life
by eliminating the risk of ovarian or uterine cancer.

Neutering male bunnies of course prevents procreation,
It also prevents alot of property damage...
It makes the bunny gentler and calmer and more amenable to cohabitation...
with other bunnies and with humans.
