Side walls were constructed out of 1/4" plywood. They were previously painted in these decorator colors for that Martha Stewart look. Side walls were fastened to the 2x4 base using drywall screws. Walls were fastened together using metal brackets.

Quarter-inch screws (for brackets) were not available at the time of construction, so screw ends were sawn off back of walls using a dremel tool.

The flooring material is deck carpet which had previously been cut to 6' by 6' by the home improvement store carpet guy.

Deck carpet has a waterproof backing which will protect the foundation from minor spillages if cleaned up immediately.

Alternatively, the foundation may be sealed using a liquid sealer or other waterproof material.

Carpet was screwed into the base at the corners. Any excess material was tacked to sides of base using drywall screws, serving the dual purpose of creating a neat appearance and eliminating visible seams from the reach of curious teeth.
